Dear Parents,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Like you, I am a parent of school-age children—children we are training to become mature adults.

Like you, I want to bring up my children “in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” I strive to encourage them to grow in grace, wisdom, understanding and knowledge, as they learn to take “every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” in all aspects of life.

To this end, and in partnership with many other Christian parents and friends, I have worked over the past several years to build a school that specializes in developing godly character and leadership in young men and women, while providing a first-rate academic education.

Parents tell us we have succeeded. The Lord has graciously provided excellent teachers for our students, under the leadership of Headmaster Greg Hardie, and we are now seeing the fruit of our labors.

We desire to share this fine staff with an expanding number of families and churches in Silicon Valley.

For the foreseeable future, we have moved to Campbell, where the First Baptist Church has graciously agreed to lease us space on their campus, space which is adequate for us to expand to cover grades K-12.

In determining how best to offer Christ-centered instruction, we have looked to the methods employed by those who have sought to live and teach in submission to the Lord and to His Word, rather than looking to the latest worldly fads.

Thus we have turned to time-tested methods that can be best described as “classical”: Teach the fundamental rules of a subject (“grammar”), then help students understand the fundamental relationship of particulars (“logic”), and finally help them to express clearly what they know of the grammar and logic of the subject (“rhetoric”).

About the Founder

David Wallace is the founder and administrator of Veritas Christian Academy. After graduating from Stanford University, Mr. Wallace worked for more than seven years as a reporter and editor for several daily and weekly newspapers in the Bay Area. In 1999, he joined a Silicon Valley startup that later became known as PayPal, Inc., where he served in several roles over the course of more than four years, including director of customer service, senior director of technical systems and senior systems auditor. Mr. Wallace also established a weekly student newspaper during his time at Stanford University and has served on the boards of two nonprofit organizations. He developed a passion for learning as a home-schooled student for eight years as a child in Scotts Valley. In addition, he has long been an active participant or leader of various Bible studies and musical groups. He and his wife, Deborah, and their three children attend Church of the King in Santa Cruz. Their children have received their formal instruction entirely through Christian schools and home schooling.

Veritas Christian Academy is a service of Doorpost Educational Services, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to assisting parents in fulfilling their God-given responsibility to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. We are theologically Reformed and seek fellowship with all evangelical Christians who are biblically orthodox.

Veritas Christian Academy is a member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS), Christian Schools International (CSI), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), Educational Records Bureau (ERB), and the Santa Clara County Christian School Association.
